Good capture of the essential emotion. I would definitely like to see the bottom finished to the same degree as the face.
A couple other minor suggestions:
Check the eyes on the original; they are not quite so symmetrically 'lemon drop' shaped. Also, as the cheekbone muscles and the muscles of the nasal bridge and pull upward, several things happen. The nose bridge skin wrinkles (which you captured nicely), the nostrils pull upward and flare more, the creases along side of the nostrils deepen, and the cheekbone flesh pushes the lower lids up onto the eye in a partial squint.
All in all, well on its way to a fine horror painting...

Thanks for the tips . Next time i steer away from ref i'll have to have at it with a mirror, once i started to move the features away from the original I stopped considering the subtle movements so much and just went with the flow. It obviously shows that I need more study, which is a good thing!

I love getting crits, theres always a point in an image where im not sure in myself whats wrong, if anything, and having other peoples opinions helps a lot. Honest feedback isnt common enough across DA, a lot of people just get pissed off instead of accepting them, so i understand your hesitation- i only ever offer them to people i know either personally or through other forums to avoid the backlash!
